QUESTION: How did your career progress at BWI Group?
Klaudia Taraszka: I heard about BWI Group (formerly Delphi) in 2008 at a job fairs in my fourth year of studies. I was accepted for an internship as a student. Despite the internship, I was immediately involved into an interesting project (it was a cooperation between the university and the company on corrosion research).
Q: How did you grow as an engineer over the last 16 years?
Klaudia: Over the years, I have had the opportunity to learn about the company’s development processes in technical centers and production processes at manufacturing plants worldwide. I have also had the pleasure of working in the engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance departments, which allowed me to learn about the product and product development processes well. Today, due to my interdisciplinary experience, I am responsible for the global change implementation process in application projects and in production.
Q: What would you consider your best professional experience?
Klaudia: One of the most significant and unusual challenges was the transfer of production to the newly established production site in New Delhi, India. It was difficult because of tight project timing, large scope and large cross – functional team assigned to this task, hence the need for good planning and execution was essential. It was unusual because of the climate conditions in India, which was an enormous physical burden for the human organism.
Q: What would you call the most important lesson you learnt?
Klaudia: In each project, the key is always communication within the team.
Q: The best advice you got from more experienced colleagues?
Klaudia: During my business trip to BWI’s Technical Center in Dayton, I was gifted by one of the managers whom I had great respect for. As a great fan of books I was given the one titled: “The Present: The Secret to Enjoying Your Work and Life, Now!” by Spencer Johnson. The author gives us a simple yet powerful message: „When you live and work with purpose, and respond to what is important now, you are more able to lead, manage, support, befriend and love”.
Q: The best advice you would give to the less experienced colleagues?
Klaudia: Try to achieve work-life balance. I know it is easy to say, but even in a difficult situation, focusing on what is right in the current moment gives you the energy and confidence to deal with what is wrong. Each of us defines for ourselves what it means to be successful.
Q: What attracts you to work in the automotive industry?
Klaudia: I’m fascinated by the automotive industry because it combines innovation, advanced engineering, and sustainability. The speed of tech evolution in areas like automation, electric vehicles, and connectivity keeps things fresh and challenging.
Q: What do you like the most about working at BWI Group?
Klaudia: BWI Group builds long-terms relations with its employees by creating work opportunities corresponding with their current capabilities. Also the company’s values align with my own ones.
